I’ve reviewed these reports of “trauma”, and have reached a conclusion about them. I’m going to make a brief statement summarizing my conclusion. While I mean this in the nicest way possible, I don’t want victims of Microaggressions or supporters of Trigger Warnings to doubt my sincerity.
F&%$ your trauma.
Yes, f$%# your trauma. My sympathy for your suffering, whether that suffering was real or imaginary, ended when you demanded I change my life to avoid bringing up your bad memories. You don’t seem to have figured this out, but there is no “I must never be reminded of a negative experience” expectation in any culture anywhere on earth.
Please read the whole thing…it is heart-felt and dead-on. I think 2015 should be the year we call bullshit on this flood of victimhood spewed by the progressive/socialist/fascist clowns presently in control in D.C., the universities, and rat holes like Chicago. One of my key take-aways from this great post is the reinforcement of the idea of what we "owe," or "don't owe," other people we interact with.
I'm Old Skol Southern born and raised, and I had politeness quite literally beaten into me as a kid. But I'm polite because it's important to me, not you. I don't owe you that politeness…hell, I don't owe you anything. Whether it's because we believe in the Biblical injunction of "Do unto others…" or just classic honey-tongued Southern Scots-Irish "honor" (I used to explain to puzzled New Yorkers that just because people in Memphis or Atlanta smiled, were relentlessly polite and asked you in for ice tea didn't mean that said people either liked you or wouldn't rearrange your face for the wrong transgression), we once believed, and operated, in a civil society.
We no longer share that common ground, and in fact, our blood enemies are using that civility as a weapon against us. Why should be be forced to acknowledge the false "victimhood" of what may be the most privileged group of people in the history of the planet? Do we all need to mumble tearful apologies for wearing the wrong shirt?
I am offended by this post !
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. :)

ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post this morning I immediately went back to bed, curled up in a ball and softly started crying..
ReplyDeleteBut then my wife smacked me upside the head and told me to get up, get dressed, and go to work.
I did.
We have a new cadet class starting today. They'll really need me down at the range. Should
Anon…I deeply feel your pain…please, please beg your cadets not to "manspread" on public transportation; to be willing to branch out and try as many of the 37 FaceBook genders as possible, including "plant," "Furry" and "salamander;" to eschew racism, sexism, ageism, and micro aggression against people suffering from Omphalophobia, Coulrophobia, Octophobia, Ithyphallophobia, Homilophobia, Bufonophobia, Xanthophobia and the other legacies of Colonialism, slavery, Manifest Destiny, American Idol, the Louisiana Purchase and the other hellish testicles of Capitalism that beset Americans of all race, color, creed, sexual orientation, height, weight, skin tone, tan, car ownership, immigration status, fingernail polish choice or gang affiliation.
ReplyDeleteHelp your cadets to understand that that we are ALL victims, that deep in our heart-of-hearts we share a kinship with with our victimized brethren and sisterns around the world, except for women, homosexuals and Christians in Muslim countries who, hey, quite frankly, get what they deserve.
Remind your cadets that, "Hands up! Don't shoot!" Teach your cadets that ALL men and women, as well as extremely white, extremely privileged university students wearing black balaclavas and professors with really ugly beards and odd body odors, have legitimate grievances against "The Man," a.k.a. your cadets, and that your new cadets should not take the chants, insults, spittle, bricks, rocks and the occasional molotov cocktail personally.
Help your cadets to identify with the proletariat, those Oppressed Souls who struggle to raise the money for an iPhone 6s, who don't have 4K teevees and who only afford the tragedy of basic cable. Help them understand that dissent is the highest form of patriotism, unless you self-identify as a Tea Party sympathizer, in which case dissent is a one-way ticket to the boxcars headed East.
Remember that guns are bad, lies are good, yes means yes, eat the rich, jendem das seine, revolution is not a dinner party, veneermos, God is dead and work makes you free.
Cadets…we welcome you as Comrades in the new America Era! Peace! Bread! Land! And I hope none of this offended you, but your trainer will be providing grief counselors if it did.
Komrad Bane

Michael,
ReplyDeleteDo you mean that the angry hoards at Ferguson and New York weren't chanting "Pants Up! Don't Loot!"?
Life Member
Anon…that is so silly of you! They were shouting, " PANTS DOWN! NO POOP!"

Amen. Just, amen.
ReplyDeleteI think that Trigger warning trauma and micro aggression is the modern version of repressed memories, except because it's all within the person's mind it can't be disproven like repressed memories which are supposed to have some relation to reality.
