Writing Day

Still chained to the computer writing GUN STORIES scripts. Kinda fun...reminds me that I used to be a writer and was chained to the computer every single day. Also just got the rough cut of the Panteao "Training With a .22" that Tom Yost and I filmed, so I'll be going through that as well.

As soon as I finish scripting GS, I'm going to jump into assembling the "crime docket" for the next season of THE BEST DEFENSE. I have a rough list of ideas, including a spin on the Boston bombings. So what would you guys like to see on TBD next season? What scenarios would you like to see Mike-Cubed cover? Anything you think we've been missing?

How about home invasions of small houses/trailers/motorhomes?

Great shows and podcasts as always.

    Thanks!

Michael, how about a show on how not to attract the attention of law enforcement in places where it's legal to CCW but the authorities still take a dim view

    Thx, Simi Shooter (a.k.a., "Mike")

In my area we're seeing an increase in take-over robberies (well, in reports of them as such, anyway). Perhaps a scenario on retreating or otherwise dealing with such a situation within a bank or retail establishment.

Also, more on concealed carry options for women.

How about an in depth look at concealed carry while at home? Seems to be a hot topic when brought up on forums.

Just saw a video about what happened to CJ Grisham - confronted by police for open carrying on arrested on BS charges. So how about what to do when confronted by police?

Ditto, but with a long look at what some believe is CJG set the incident up. Please consider CJG in total not just this one "POSSIBLY" contrived incident.

Well based on recent events, what about when your city goes on "lock down". Even though there are thousands of police roaming the street, what are some good survival techniques and defensive ideas in that situation? I'm sure there are millions of different ideas, but some general guidelines would make for an interesting show.

More in depth on what to do after an incident and the police arrive eg: where to put your gun, what to say

Also traffic stop while you and wife are armed
And last moving your guns from one state to another
Thinking of bailing out of New York for Pensacola

How about a show dealing with the elderly...on the street, in the car, at home.

Couple of years ago I accompanied my WW II Vet Father to D.C. for the Honor Flight. It was only a two day event, and we were not allowed to bring any checked baggage, only carry-on. Obviously the TSA prevents taking any obvious means of self protection at all. We were in the crime capitol for two plus days totally without any normal means of self protection, and no opportunity to buy anything meaningful while there. What to do in a situation like that?

As a small business owner I have always been concerned about an angry, fired, former employee coming in the place armed & looking for trouble. So how about a show on being prepared for work place violence? Both for the employer and employee.

I have been threatened by employees in the past and even had one follow me around for a while after being fired. When inquiring with the police they said they couldn't do anything unless he did something.

    @Anonymous@:25 AM...

Consider taking a cane. I take along a fighting cane in those situations. The flight attendent puts it in the closet then "helps" me to my seat. AND comes and gets me to let me off the plan first. Nice.

Hello Mike, thank you for just being. You are a hero of mine. How about a show about how to deal with the police in emergency situations like Katrina or Sandy when they become hostile and come to disarm us? There are many horor stories that where not or under reported by the slime media of this happening in Katrina. The people this happened to never got their firearms back. Also how to deal with a hostile government. Not necessarily armed (on our part) confrontation, but escape and evasion. I have a large cache of firearms and ammunition. I have no hope to save all from seizure but just some choice items. Any ideas??
Thank you for everything, God Bless.

Many other gun shows, including yours have discussed gun selection ad nausea. You should re-address the subject from a "Why do we need": an "AR" with 30-round magazine, or a 17-round semi-auto pistol, or a shotgun, or all three. I think that doing so would have value to many new gun owners as well as people "on the fence". It may also help educate the "anti's". We could
"face-book" and "You-Tube" excerpts so that those that don't usually watch our shows could also view them and become educated.

Remember, we are "Preaching to the Choir" here most of the time. We need to start "Preaching to the CONVERTED" by going beyond regular viewership.

Perhaps a Myth Busting show going down those same lines of showing what studies show as "real life" in these contexts. What is the average gunfight? What is the average exchange of bullets in a gunfight? You day people don't like to bleed so does the person on the fence need a 1911 or would a few well placed 22lr shots do the trick given people don't like to bleed?

Mall/hospital/sporting event/public transportation/concert just to name a few. A couple of these places are NPE (non permissive environment)in a few states.

    You're a great Man Micheal.
Would love to see a show that takes a good look at the best places in the USA for freedom lovers to live.

And thanks for telling CO where to put it! Give North Idaho a look... we would love to have you here and it is a GREAT place to live.

    Thanks,

    RF

  16. A bit in relation to the "Arming Yourself In DC" concept mentioned above:
I'd like to see a show focusing on unconventional self defensive devices. A cup of coffee, a rolled up newspaper, a cane, etc.

How about a show on animal attacks, ala your recent encounters with off lease/feral dogs.

Many of these topics have already been covered but the folks that missed them, (or just want to review), can't get the material.

We need to pressure Outdoor Channel to sell more than season 1 on DVD!
They've had more than enough time to get on it.
