The Great Circle of Life...

...Ruger style!

Been out shooting me some revolvers, filming for SGO. Aren't they just as cute as a passel of puppies? From top-dead-center, going clockwise, GP-100 .44 Special, Alaskan Super Redhawk .454 Casull, SP-101 Wiley Clapp version, GP-100 .357 Wiley Clapp/Gemini Custom, and .44 Magnum Redhawks by Hamilton Bowen.

    Damn you, Micheal...Best I can do is a brace of 1917 Smith's, an M-49, a Super Blackhawk, and a Taurus .357...

Of all three, I think that the Redhawk still out classes the rest. The grip-frame does it whether it is the rounded version shown on the custom, or the squared version on the bigger Redhawks. I have 5 1/2" and 7 1/2" versions and those wood grips just make the gun look sooo classic AND they fit my hands well.

What I don't get is how Smith' can make the model 69 5-holer in .44 mag and have it live and the Ruger GP-100 is a 5-holer in .44 Special. I wonder what enhancements would be required to make the latter in the magnum caliber.

Is there some sort of secret list of folks who are going to inherit your gats when you shuffle off to Valhalla? Where can I sign up?

  4. Beauty is in danger. Indeed a very beautiful invention of humanity that causes fear. You need to be careful with it.
