Breaking News About SIG
I'm occasionally amazed at the things that find their way to my in-box! Click on the letter to get it full-sized, but, in short, Boston has chosen the SIG Revolution 1911 .45s for their Entry & Apprehension Team.
Wholly Crap! Now Sig wins law enforcement contracts with their 1911. What happens if/when they come out is an American made 550 rifle? They'll be like the Borg.
A Sigarms made 55x rifle would be big news. There is a lot of talk about it but nobody seems to have seen one. If they come out with one I'll be first in line.
Who do you think the other companies were? Kimber had to be one. Para, S&W and maybe Springfield? Since it's Boston S&W must have been in the running being a hometown favorite and all. Would be interesting to see what happened to the others.
Looks like SIG has got its game face on. Be fun to see what happens in the future especially with the army contract. The 45 is a great round and adding the word SIG infront of it makes for a helluva combination.
Well I guess there's a new sheriff in town in the 1911 world.
ReplyDeleteI've shot the guns and posted my comments on them. I'll also be shooting one in the Single Stack Classic/USPSA Single Stack Nationals in April.

I'm addicted to 1911's. I guess it's my age...

ReplyDeleteCongrats to SIG. That's impressive considering the number of 1911 makers around that must have been considered.

ReplyDeleteThe Boston PD have some good guys on duty. I bet they are fired up to get a SIG.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the new single action 220 Sigarms is coming out with at SHOT? 220 is a better, more reliable mouse trap.
