Enter NOW!
Remember that April 15 is Buy A Gun Day — hot pix courtesy the great Cowboy Blob Saloon and Shootin' Gallery, by the way!
If you can't buy a gun, we've got you covered!
You can get a great custom gun, but you've got to act quickly...the Custom Bruce Gray SIGARMS 1911 GSR giveaway on the DOWN RANGE site, www.downrange.tv, is coming down to the final mile. W're giving this puppy away Sunday, BUY A GUN DAY, at the NRA MEMBERS MEETING in St. Louis at the SIGARMS BOOTH!!! 11 AM...be there!
I haven't seen the Tactical Solutions/Leupold 10/22 that will be our next giveaway gun...the guys at Tactical Solutions wanted it to be a surprise, so it'll be on display at the Leupold booth...if you're going to be in St. Louis, CHECK IT OUT! I am, by the way, in the process of negotiating a giveaway gun that is going to KNOCK YOUR PROVERBIAL SOCKS OFF...stay tuned...
I also want to say I'm a little overcome by the response to today's first posting of our DOWN Ramge podcats on iTunes...hundreds of people had signed up by noon today...WOW! We may be onto something here. Seriously folks, thank you...I'll keep pushing until they make me stop!
If you're going to be at the NRA Show in St. Louis, definitely look me up...I'll be at the OUTDOOR CHANNEL booth from 1-2 PM each day signing autographs and cruising the floorthe rest of the time.
And check out Crazy Einar at Arthur's Hall, where he's listing the Ten Manliest Firearms. I might quibble a bot on the inclusion of Mosin-Nagent and the exclusion of the M1A, but it;s a cool list. Number One Manly Gun???
The Barrett .50 BMG...yeah man! Ronnie rocks!
I guess I'm 40% manly, having a SMLE, Glock (actually 2), AR-15 and Remington 870. I can't claim the 1911 as my Para P-16 is a 40 S&W, even though it's loaded with 22 rounds of Winchester Ranger. 5.5 tons of muzzle energy without reloading is a great comfort to a girly (40%) man like myself. :)
ReplyDeleteMichael, your podcast is too high quality, or something. That is, it's too big for the length. Another podcast I subscribe to is 3.5x the length for the same MB size. All the rest are smaller/longer too. Look at Guntalk: 44:40 for 10.4MB
ReplyDeleteOther than that, an enjoyable listen. Keep it UP!
All those clunky euro clubs and poodle shooters and no mention of the manliest gun of them all....the M1 Garand?????
ReplyDeletePLEASE!!!!!!!
Hi "Overload in Colorado"
ReplyDeleteWe changed the bitrate of the mp3 file this morning, which downsized it to 8.7mb. We are working on getting the size down and without reducing the quality. THANKS TO ALL THE NEW SUBSCRIBERS!
MH, DRTV.
Overload, we decided to hammer out the audio issues before we started increasing compression on the files.
ReplyDeleteThat proved to be harder than we (and about five books) anticipated. In the end, we just had to throw money at it...probably what i should have done in the first place!
My experience was that I couldn't get sound with "depth" from any of the USB sound interfaces, even after I dinked the waveform with sound enhancers. Probably a real sound engineer could have solved the problems in a heartbeat...unfortunately, the sound engineers I know said, "Jeez, Michael...what do you expect with TOYS!"
I finally went to an expensive FireWire interface, which made a big difference. I have a professional studio microphone on order to replace my $60 special.
I can[t see the top of my desk for the rat's nest of wiring...

Overload...
ReplyDeleteWebmaster Marshal just shrunk the file from 17 mb to 9mb...more on par with standard audio downloads...

The podcasts are great. I look forward to getting to my desk on Monday morning and starting each week with some insightful thoughts from the leading expert and #1 TV host. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteApril 15th is on a Sunday. You can't buy a gun around here on Sunday, aint nothing open!
ReplyDeletetim perkins...
ReplyDeleteSo buy one on Saturday! ;-)
Michael, Marshal Halloway, thanks for the update. Sorry if I came off as a git in my comment, I was honestly trying to help with some feedback.
ReplyDeleteA GSR that works!
ReplyDeleteIf you're gonna buy a gun this time, this is the one to buy.
ReplyDeleteThis is hte first time in 45 years of collecting that I have seen a firearm actually made by John M. Browning for sale.
There's big Mojo in this metal if it's real.
