An Invaluable Resource!

I haven't mentioned this in a while, but John Farnam's regular Lessons Learned Quips are an invaluable source of information. He makes an intersting point that serious, and pricey, battle rifles are flying out the door of shops here in Colorado:
Consistently strong sales of all the foregoing indicate to me that, at least here in CO, people (many who never thought about owning a serious gun until now) are heavily arming themselves with serious weapons. Apparently, government's dubious "we-have-everything-under-control" message is getting lost in the translation!

John is the single best instructor I have had. He teaches gunfighting plain and simple. Great guy.

  3. While it's wonderful to hear that serious rifles are selling like hotcakes, it would be even better to hear that people with serious rifles are booking basic, intermediate and advanced riflery classes like never before.

Thanks, Michael for posting that link to John Farnham's quips / lessons learned.

I had heard of Farnham (sp?) before, I really had no idea of who is OR that he is even still alive.

Man! There are tons of good info there!

I don't suppose he has put those maxims into book form, has he?

Is there anywhere I can read a bio on Mr. Farnham? I could probably just do a google search since it sounds like he still teaches handgun and rifle classes. Sounds like it would be interesting to take a class from him.

It has been 3 weeks since you announced Sportsman for Fred and hi lited all the parts pertaining to you as if you were afraid your readers would miss the references to the great MB.

Other than giving you an ego trip just what has Sportsman for Fred accomplished?

  6. Mostly I just do stuff to assuage my massive ego. It's pretty much a full-time job, too...you have no idea! Day in and day out, it's shovel the coal into the maw of Michael's ego. I usually take Sundays off — you know, like on the seventh day I rest? — but around Christmastime I like a little extra boost here or there.

Otherwise, I do the same as I always do...I'm the annoying guy in the background who pesters important people about guns guns guns...
