China Camp Passes

Sad, sad news...my good friend Dennis Ming, who as "China Camp" became one of the best cowboy shooters in history and the sport's first great champion, today suffered a fatal heart attack.

I don't quite know what to say...he and I shot on the same squad last month in the Wild Bunch match, and in the times between shooting he outlined the fun trips he had planned with his family...so much love and joy there! I said next time I was in California, he and Prairie Weet and Sweetwater and I could all get together for dinner.

Next time...time...

Jeanie and Jessie, my thoughts and prayers are with you today.

Life is a dream waking
Death is a going home

I was very sad to hear this news today. I had the great pleasure and privilege to work with Dennis 3 or 4 times this last year. He was an interesting, intelligent, well educated, down-to-earth, good guy. A rare combination in this world.

I was looking forward to our next work opportunity.

My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

  4. I used to watch Dennis shoot when I was a young boy. My dad "Tutler" and him were close friends. When my parents split, Dennis still called my mom every other week to check up on her to make sure she was doing alright.. when hardly anyone else did. I have all the respect in the world for Dennis. He remains as one of the kindest men I will ever meet, and my prayers go out to Jeanie n Jessika. He was a true role model for me when I was a boy and as I became a man. I didn't personally become close with him as I got older, but I always saw the results of his caring heart when my mom needed a friend. Dennis, you will always impact my heart as I continue to grow.

  7. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed.
