Podcast Overcome By Events...

...but in a good way! Sorry you've got to suffer through my rant on the DoD ammunition kerfunkle on the podcast, but am extremely happy to see the DoD change its mind...under pressure from Montana Senators John Tester and Max Baucus, both Democrats.

Gentleman, a profound thank you!

Deep breath here...we in the gun culture need a new political consensus that is tied to neither the Republican or Democratic parties. If you support the Second Amendment and are committed to gun rights, it doesn't matter what political party you belong to. While individual Republicans have stood with us, the party as a whole has held us in obvious contempt.

I see that Republican weasel Michael Steele will speak at the NRA Convention...this is the same Michael Steele who spoke out in favor of a new AWB. The first words out of his mouth better be, "Members of the NRA...I am profoundly sorry for my ill-advised comments on laws banning the most popular firearms in America...accordingly, I hereby commit the Republican Party to unconditional support for the Second Amendment and gun rights in America..."

Otherwise, he should join the execs at AIG in seppuka...

The NRA is loosing it. In regards to Mr. Steele, Why would you believe a single word out of his mouth now?

Who's next, Arlen Spector? , Link Chaffee?

I strongly agree we should support candidates on their voting records, not party.

    Jezz.

    MB,

Don't hold yer breath waiting for that statement from Steele or the R party.

How many times is Steele going to tell us how he really feels and then apologize for it? Can we get some non-RINO RNC leadership we can have some confidence in?
He's not okay just because he's a Republican. Gun owners have been screwed worse by RINO's than by Dems. With his crap for credentials, Steele can take a hike. He has functioned as a saboteur not a leader.

Michael Steele is a tool. He has no business addressing the NRA convention.

    Something doesn't add up here.

Gary Marbut is trying to give Baucus and Tester all the credit saying that they sent a FAX and an hour later the problem was solved.

If you look at the e-mail posted on the Georgia Arms website, the DLA had rescinded the order and sent e-mail notification to Larry Haynie before Marbut claims that Baucus and Tester even sent their magic FAX.

TM - You insult tools by calling Steele a tool. He's nobody's tool. He's token and he's a loose cannon.

I WANT Michael Steele to address the NRA! I want him to see the grass-roots. I want him to meet me and all of my honest, intelligent, hard-working American friends that support the 2A. I want him to see and hear from us and I want him to be put "on the spot" at the podium. If after all of that, he isn't a convert, then we'll all work for his ouster. If he is a convert, he'll be worth more than any other pundit that is just along for another ride and paying us lip-service. Let's be good hosts and invite him to get to know who owns those 600 million guns in America. Let him see why "black rifles" are the most popular sporting guns in America. Show him the data on gun crimes vs. legal ownership. Show him the data in "Righ-to-Carry" states vs. the two "denial" ones (Wisconsin and Illinois, Obama's "Dream Land"). Let him see why we are the ones to be trusted and not the crooks.
Bring him on and treat him fair!

I gotta say there are many Democrats that are very Pro 2A but are in hiding because of the image they are giving by the very anti Democrats.

If we can get passed all the US vs. Them crap that the extremeists on both sides have built up and stand together. We wouldn't have to worry about AWB, Ammo shortages, and ungodly taxes.

    United we can win all!

  10. Howdy, Mr. Bane! Cowboy Blob here. Would I be stepping on your toes by covering the 2A Blog Bash/NRA Convention as a freelance videographer? I'm doing it mostly for between-semester film school practice and to get some face time captured from our favorite gunbloggers and maybe a genuine celebrity or two. I want to send individual bloggers copies of their interviews/casts, but also have something slick packaged together for my early resume' roll (which until now consists only of blogged crappy match videos available on YouTube).

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Wow...the NRA gets more support from Democrats than Republicans on this issue....strange bedfellows we're making....

Maybe it's time to let the GOP die its deserved death and start gathering up pro-BOR Democrats to run against the Socialists....seems the Dems have their act together...and I'm tired of waiting for the GOP to find the head in it's butt...
