Is indeed what we're going for on TBD: SURVIVAL...it was a bear to negotiate this location, Disaster City, the premiere first responder training faculty for large scale disasters in the world...I believe we're the first andonly to get this level of access...plus access to the mto experts and thinkers in the field.
I say let the other guys follow; it's a lot more fun to LEAD...

It should be unique to see a survival show on TV...er didn't Bear Gylls and Les Stroud have one first?
ReplyDeleteI don't do wilderness survival...
ReplyDeleteAnd FWIW, my book OVER THE EDGE, the book that quite literally defined the whole "participatory survival" craze, was first published in 1996.
They play in my old arena...

Glad to see you went and got some first hand experience. As a first responder here in FL I've had my share of diasters. Knowing how it should work and the ICS system helps a great deal. Still the key is an individual's personal responsibilty to take care of themselves for a period of time. You cannot expect the government to do it all for you
ReplyDeleteI've been to scenario training areas across the US in Europe.. this place is unique and amazing. As a facility set up for rescuers, Disaster City is built incredibly well... and I think the Emergency Ops and Fire Fighting Scenario areas are even better!
ReplyDeleteThe show is really going to look great!

Our local chemical plant send several firefighters down there every year. We get to fight some HUGE fires for a week. We havn't got to do disaster city yet, but every time we go down and check it out.
