Another Grilled Fish Evening!

Doing grilled salmon with horseradish topping tonight, along with the Cheval Rouge cab/merlot mix from Boete Winery in California...one of the few things I'm going to miss when we finally sell CA to the Mexicans, or the Chinese, whoever ponies up the bucks.

Good news...I just got permission to film in the Royal Armouries in England, including the Tower of London, to film there. Man, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! This will be a major coup for SHOOTING GALLERY and GUN STORIES. Next level, baby...next level! My goal in England for SHG is the Royal Armouries and Holland & Holland...bazinga!

Got the AR finished today (and, yes, it was the original SG yellow gun!). It is a nice, nice gun. I really like the  Timney Trigger. For a pure competition gun, the single stage trigger rocks...I might go with a 3-pound Timney single stage on the Daniel Defense DDM4 gun I'm going to use in my next Appleseed with one of the Redfield 3-9X Battlezone scope. Heck, they're not even a sponsor and I love the scope.

My Sweetie and I will be speaking to members of the Colorado Legislature next week. Wish us luck!

Good luck. You'll need it. Though the CO lawmakers seem to be a tiny bit more receptive to what I've sent them, the ones in Washington send back drivel spewing forth the BHO party line and demonstrating that they didn't even take the time to skim my letter to see which side I was on. Disappointing.

Do they televise the proceedings you'll be speaking at, or is it more of an informal thing? Would love to DVR and watch it.

Yes, good luck! It seems like the good citizens of Colorado are facing some pretty stern anti gun zealots. I hope the words flow smoothly and you guys don't miss a beat!

Filming at the Royal Armouries? Cool! If you need additional staff I have my passport handy!

Michael, please keep us updated on when you're speaking before the CO legislature next week - and whether spectators are welcome. I, for one, would like to attend - or see it televised, if possible. I know you'll do us proud.
My experience with CO's legislator's would appear to mirror that of Grizz - they ARE at least more receptive, and polite regarding the issue at hand than are our representatives in DC.

And while you're in the Tower of London, be sure to pay proper homage to my family coat-of-arms. There are damn few of us about - and even fewer then. Now, if I could just recall what that little dust-up between the Brits and the Scots was all about . . .

  4. What's the best way for someone like myself, with a State House poised to enact laws against anything coming down the pipe, a VERY gun-friendly Congressman and two gun-friendly Senators to help others in less fortunate climes?

What DamDoc said. May I please suggest using Md. zip codes? O:-). I need all the help I can get here in the People's Dem. Rep. of Md.

  6. Kevin - www.ruger.com is a start (with a phony zipcode to help folks in barraged areas)... In Maine we are starting to see titles of NUMEROUS bills the newly elected democrats (they took over the house and senate after a BRIEF republican, and pro gun law reprieve).. I do the ruger auto-letter thing as well as beat on my representative with more "personalized" letters/emails. My state rep may be the most draconian hoplaphobe in the state of Maine (newly elected).. she has a boner against guns.. google her name (Janice Cooper) with the "Falmouth Forcaster" (a local paper) if you want your skin to crawl with one of her rant articles (we are very evil people!).. I have written her several times now, and I am not stopping the barrage.. you do the same!

    Michael,
On a lighter note, may I suggest Chateau Grand Traverse Late Harvest Riesling as a compliment to your salmon dinner? Over many years, it has been a consistent award-winning wine produced in the Grand Traverse Bay region of Michigan. That area has a unique micro-climate that produces exceptional grapes.

I am a red wine type of guy, but I happily go over to the the "lighter side", when serving fish, or poultry. It goes well with my smoke-grilled salmon, or steel-head. I highly recommend it. (And it's my wife's favorite too!) You should be able to get it out there in Colorado. Check the net'.

  9. Awesome! I'm looking forward to the Tower of London episode. I've been fortunate enough to visit it a couple times and it's got an amazing selection of super cool weapons. I also got to visit Holland and Holland. I was just about ready to take out a second mortgage to get my wife and I one of the matched pairs of 20 gauges, but she informed me much preferred a house to me getting "another gun."
