I note the passing of our beloved cat, Pokke, at only 8 years old. He was a fine mouser, a companion to Alf the Wonder Bagle and, oddly enough, our parrots, and a joy in our lives for far too short a time.
He is beyond pain now, and with the God of All Things.
My heart is broken. I will miss him so.
Mr. Bane and family: I am very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDelete-Trevor Shepherd, on behalf of me and my 2-legged and 4-legged family members.
So sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe clan at HiCotn send their regrets.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry Michael.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you and yours...
ReplyDeleteThat sucks Michael.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the news.
My family and pets send their condolences. I offer a slightly altered version of a Gary Larson cartoon that's always comforted us after the loss of a dog. In cat Heaven, a truck made completely of tunafish comes through every hour on the hour. For dog's it was made of pressed ham.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!
ReplyDeleteGod bless pokke.. condolances.
ReplyDeleteSo deeply sorry. My wife and I just put down a cat we had for 18 years. It does break your heart
ReplyDeleteIt is never easy. Pokke's sprit will always be lurking around the next doorway. With condolences from Lil Bit, Sylvester, Princess and Bubba. The the human.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your loss Michael.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences on the loss of Pokke. We've had dogs in our home for over 40 years; it is so tough when they have to leave you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your loss, Mr. Bane.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bane,
ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear of your loss. I know how hard it is when you have to make that decision. Think of the good times you had with Pokke, and love the rest of your family, 2 and 4 legged, that much more.
Thank you all so much. It does help to hear from others who care. I know this sounds stupid, but I always figured Pokke and I would grow old together...he would be a crotchety old cat and I would be a crotchety old man. If I close my eyes, I still see that vision.

Michael...
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Pokke-san. I know the hurt. It's been several years since my Brittany friend Victor left, and I think of him almost every day, as you will Pokke.
It's comforting to know the when God created the Pearly Gates, He included a pet door for Victor, Rufus, Pokke and all our friends.
Always hard to let the fuzzy ones go. Take comfort in knowing that they will be waiting for us on the other side.
ReplyDeleteMy sincere condolences for the loss of your family member. It is never easy. Our prayers go up for your family with hopes that the sting of your sorrow will soon give way to the happy memories.
ReplyDeleteMichael, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dear family member. I too struggle with such a loss. It's been 3 years now since my dear Sparky left me. I can't find it anywhere in the Bible about us rejoining our pets in Heaven but I have to believe that since our pets are capable of love then they must have a soul. And I can't imagine that the God that created these wonderful creatures and who loves us so much would allow us to be separated from our dear pets. I take comfort in that belief and I hope your family can also.

ReplyDeleteto Steve B, MB, and all others who have suffered the loss of a dear companion.....

Personally, I believe this with all my heart.....
I am sorry to hearing this news. Cats and dogs are like family members and it hurts like hell when they die.
ReplyDeleteWe lost our Maine Coon cat nearly 2 years ago after 16 years.
ReplyDeleteI still miss her.
Michael, I'm sorry about Pokke. It's one of those things that doesn't get easier. Each one we lose takes a little bit of us with them. I just hope that when we all get together again we can give those parts back to each other.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bane:
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. I say "family member" because that is exactly what pets are. I am a physician by training, and as such have been with many people as they died. That said, your last podcast had me driving down the road crying. I have lost a pet in recent months and just "manned up" and went on with life...until today.
I hope your sadness dissipates quickly. I find solace in thinking about all the good I brought to the life of my pet. Even a short time being treated like a king, was a lifetime to Pokke.
Cliff
Sorry for your loss. Remember him well.
ReplyDeleteMichael...I am very sorry for your loss. It is very clear that Pokke-san was well-loved.
ReplyDeleteIn my heart, I believe I will see him again.
