Focus on Front Sight...Break Icicle off Nose!
I just had to post this picture from Bruce Gray's class at the SIGARMS Academy (courtesy of Paul Erhardt @ SIG)! After they finished this drill, I hear they went out hunting penguins...
Those guys in New Hamster are TOUGH! For Brucie's next class, the students are going to have to first scale an ice wall, then summit Mt. Washington, followed by 2 shots, a tactical reload, then 2 more shots!
There's something about the shared experience through great adversity that brings men together. Actually, taking turns huddling naked with each other in the warming tent wasn't so bad. Did you know that the muzzle blast clears the snow long enough for a flash image of the target during white-out conditions? As long as you're closer than 3 feet, anyway.
Looks like the class I taught this weekend. I told my students, "Adversity builds character." That and, "This is Michigan. Don't you think you might have to shoot in the snow sometime?"
I shot an IPSC stage in -15C (5F) temperature several years ago. One problem is that a hit anywhere on the paper targets would blow off a cloud of patches-they stick poorly at temperatures that low.
Looks like the Clear Creek range..but doesn't show the fourty knot wind coming down the canyon.
