I just saw it last night online. I'm certainly glad that I postponed purchasing one, I'd much rather have the takedown option. Man, Ruger keeps on rolling out the hits!
Man, I can't believe I have to say this again...in a free market society, NEED has nothing to do with it. We don't NEED 50 brands of toothpaste, motorcycles that go 200 miles per hour, Jimmy Choo shoes, Mercedes Benzes, expensive wine, designer chocolate or Ritch Rand cowboy hats. We are, however, free to buy all those things if we WANT them (and can afford them), because that's how a free society works.
"From each according to his ability; to each according to his need" describes a different country, dude!
I'm not a big 10/22 fan, even though I own two of them. But if they'd make one of these in .357, now that would be something I'd love to have at least a couple of. Might be the best trunk gun ever.
Just wanted to say that I love the new Ruger 10/22 Takedown and found this awesome video of it being shot and exploding bottles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzO9p8_OJxo I can't wait to get one and do the same.

ReplyDeleteYawn.
ReplyDeleteThere are probably a half dozen people who "need" a TD rifle. It's a neat concept and will no doubt sell based on the walter mitty factor.
10/22's have never excited me over much.
Oh, frack! I've gotta buy ANOTHER 10/22? ;^)'
ReplyDeleteCurious to see if the takedown system will really allow a return to zero with Tech Sights on both the receiver and barrel.
However, the tacticool guncase/ MOLE bag does look a little excessive/ expensive.

Browning Semi-Auto .22, a takedown .22 since 1914 and still in production.

ReplyDeleteI probably won't get one, but I sure am hoping that the takedown concept takes off, so we see takedown rifles at reasonable prices in larger calibers.

ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention that the MSRP is $700 for the basic model.
I shot a Chinese clone of one, fun gun to shoot, and they are very pretty.
With that said, the Ruger takedown is superior in every way, $389 MSRP, and made in the USA, not that I have anything against products made in Japan.
