Not to constantly send you over to SHOOTING GALLERY, but Jerry Ahern just posted an excellent article on assembling a weapons' battery...no, not like a D-cell!
If you're not familiar with Jerry, he's the author of the old Survivalist action series, which was always the best-written, most intelligent of the men's adventure novels. The way things are going these days, it may soon be the most relevant as well. He wrote, like, 27 volumes and sold millions of the things.
Not content to stick to slam-bang men's adventure, he also wrote a really excellent book on concealed carry, designed a whole series of CCW holsters (I've used his excellent rough-out pocket holsters for years) and most recently has taken over as President of the newly revived Detonics. I've been shooting one of the new little CombatMasters, and I think it's fair to say that it is the single best small 1911 .45s on the market today...period!
If you are even considering carrying a small 1911, you owe it to yourself to check out the Detonics.
I was really pleased when Jerry started writing for the SHOOTING GALLERY website, and his article on how one gun size doesn't fit all occasions is a good example of why. Go read it!
