MB--Just for clarification--this photo was taken on the way to a recent Purim costume party--while the M-16 is customary Israeli street attire--his dress and heels are most certainly not!! dmd

If you know Israel and Israelis there is nothing at all disturbing about this pic--It was widely shown in the Israeli press/media on Purim--Purim is a national/religious holiday in April where the custom is to dress up in outlandish costumes and attend wild costume parties--visualize Holloween combined with Mardi Gras--This is a combat soldier (note the inserted mag) on leave from the front going to a costume party with his girl/wife wearing matching outfits--nothing more than that--dmd

EVERY Israeli citizens automatically enters national service immediately after high school- men and women. Surrounded on all sides by enemies who want to "push them into the sea", they need to be ready at a moments notice. Remember the 6 day war and the Yom Kippur war- 95% of Israel's population were in synagogue praying and fasting on their holiest day when they were attacked- and we all know what happened and how, with God's help, they persevered. God bless America and God bless the people of Israel.
