Cecil the Lion & Sport Hunting

...am on the blistering hot range filming until the weekend, but I wanted to say I will be talking about Cecil the Lion and sport hunting on next week'm podcast. In the meanwhile, read this:
Still, we don't need the video to realize a very important and vital lesson about the mental faculties of your average American. And that lesson is they are no longer capable of logic, reason, empiricism or sanity. Worse, they're so selfish and narcissistic, they happily put their emotions over principles and the rights of others. With no proof (at that point in time) that Dr. Palmer was guilty of violating any law people were already threatening to kill him, ruin his career, and ruin his life. Some were so far gone they said they didn't care about the legality of his kill, they just thought he should be punished for hunting. And it is this principleless, amoral, mindless mob who put their emotions over, not just an individual's rights, but reality, facts, and truth that not only makes it difficult for the legal system to

The real story is not that poor Cecil was tragically shot. It's that western civilization, specifically the younger generations, have lost their collective minds and do not have the mental faculties to be adults, let alone adults in the free world. They are effectively zombies. And there is no reasoning with them.

Plan accordingly.

People are more outraged over this than baby body parts being harvested and sold by Planned Parenthood.

I'm more curious why racial slurs (albeit misspelled ones) are allowed on the DRTV forums.

Eric, take a deep breath. That is a lively discussion about a legitamate subject.

The fact that one or two commentors used frank language doesn't mean they are slurring anybody, especially if they believe it to be true.

Instead of being offended, why don't you step up to the plate and add your informed opinion to the discussion?

No evidence the good doctor did anything wrong? Have you actually read anything?

1. The lion had a GPS collar - to even the remotely sentient, that's A Clue;

2. The guide tried to destroy the collar to hide the crime;

3. The lion had to be lured out of the game preserve, onto a farm;

4. The owner of the farm had no lion permit;

5. The guide had no lion permit; and

6. The good doctor had poached a bear in '08.

Don't forget the botched shot - hit with an arrow, the lion lingered for another 2 days before it was shot with a rifle.

That's not hunting; that's POACHING.

Grasp the distinction.

K. Langer, there's plenty of evidence the GUIDES did things wrong, the doctor not so much. Regardless, the point is that people immediately started issuing death threats and harassment over an ANIMAL.

I don't know, why don't we ask George Zimmerman about emotional thoughtless reactions from a biased brain dead media and public.

Wow, isn't it amazing how such astronomical costs/fees/charges for hunting can drive the locals to play fast and loose with the local laws? Care to guess why the locals don't do any hunting?

The hunter is not in charge of a hunting expedition over there, but pretty much entirely at the mercy/control of the local guides that are REQUIRED by law to be employed by visiting hunters. Seems the good doctor chose poorly.

I would expect that GPS setup to not be noticeable by a hunter. It has to be very minimal for the animal to tolerate it.

Oooh, a "botched" shot. What, you expect perfection? With a bow, no less? Sounds like a leftist mantra when it comes to weapon use. "You must be perfect every time, or it won't be allowed". Typical. If you aren't a leftist/statist, then you need to learn about the real world. If you are one, then it's a moot point.

That right there. Society is coming un-spooled. Plan accordingly.

Eric,
It is a sad commentary on how f*cked up America has become that A holes like you get your panties in a wad because TAB used an "offensive" word, (actually he used the name of a country in central Africa, but it's TAB, context means more than spelling {note to TAB, 2 "G's" Dude})
But you never even questioned the validity of his point because you could not.
Cris Rock can use that word repeatedly and it's called stand up comedy, TAB uses it and gets censored.
Not only is that a violation of his 1st Amendment rights, it's racist. That makes him rude, but YOU are the racist.
It is also a racist violation of the rights of any one who might be interested in what TAB has to say.
The 1st Amendment is there to protect what people want to say and write, not what you want to hear.
Don't like it ?
To f*cking bad.

rremington,

I would like to suggest that it is all a matter of conditioning, or in the case of the generation of focus, a matter of inculcation. If they're bombarded enough with propaganda in the schools, on TV and the 'net and, or in the world outside of their families; or if the lies that they've been told are so big, no one could ever possibly believe that they are untrue; then you get what we've gotten. Human intelligence is "incarnate". It does not simply go away. They are using their intelligence to accomplish the wrong things. It is learned behavior "salted" with human nature. Effective negative leaders are quite adept at doing this. Anyone who accuses them of not being good leaders is wrong. Look at what they've systematically accomplished.

Some more food for Eric the racist to chew on. "Teabagger", "gun nut", and" Cracker" are offensive words also, but no one has their comments censored, and their opinions suppressed because of using them.

I appreciate the fact that the offensive posting was taken down. As for those that try to hide this under the first amendment rights, let me know how it would work if you posted language like that in the commentary over at FOX News, or any conservative candidate running for President, or any other major forum/comment site and see what happens.

Also think of all the people that have lost their jobs or credibility using that word.

Tell you what. Next time I won't bother trying to argue the point with all you enlightened first amendment protectionists. I'll just go right to the sponsors of the website, podcast, and shows and ask what they think about the ability to use these words on the forums.

I wonder what Joe Mantegna would think about this give his friendships with African Americans.

Wow! I must be doing something right to have so many people mad at me!

First, let me tell you what I did wrong…last night in the wee hours I wrote an explanatory comment here. I thought it was a really good, thoughtful note. I was writing it on my iPad because I was at Rockcastle, the power was knocked out by a storm, and the pad had the most power and I was still getting a cell link. I shifted to another window to get a link, and — as if by hand of the occult — I wiped out my own comment. So I thought, "To hell with it…I'll deal with it later."

Obviously, I should have rewritten the damned comment last night!

Let me list some bullet points first:

1) I talked to Marshal, told him I thought the post should come down, and he agreed. My decision, and I stand by it.
2) The First Amendment applies to the government. DRTV isn't the government. It is a private enterprise owned by Outdoor Channel.
3) DRTV operates under a set of standards set by Outdoor Channel. Those standards are consistent with other media companies.

Tom, I am sorry you are upset. I am especially sorry because, language aside, TAB was (in my opinion) 100% on target — black lives matter only insomuch as they generate headlines for race hustlers. Chicago's summer slaughter is ample proof of that point.

Eric, I'm having a little trouble understanding what your point is. When made aware of the post, we removed it. We would have caught it sooner had Marshal and I not both been in the field doing 12 hour filming days. But we WOULD have caught it, and we would have taken the same action. I am not, however, particularly fond of being threatened.

I think we've covered everything we need to cover here.
