Gun Control Lost; What HappenedMaybe we should forward this to the Chicago Red Star...er, Tribune! Actually, this is a very accurate summation of a longer article in Real Clear Politics...you can read the whole thing there.
It’s really quite simple: gun control legislation did not reduce violence. Secondly, people started actually reading the text of the second amendment of the United States Constitution. Thirdly, 'laws allowing concealed weapons proliferated - with no ill effects.’
To put it more succinctly; the idea that outlawing guns makes society more safe was proven wrong, this while Americans started to realize that, just perhaps, the US Constitution actually means what it says.
Who would have thought it could be that simple?

The LAST Last Word

In spite of these very wise words, the anti-gun insanity continues.
First of all, it should be inconceivable that four (4) of the nine (9) Supreme Court Justices could have disagreed with the Second Amendment and what it really means and says and why it was written. They are, by their political statements, fueling a war on guns that has absolutely nothing to do with solving the cause of gun violence.
Second, the anti's are re-doubling their efforts to not only continue to NOT solve the "killing issue" in the world, but to overthrow the courts findings and maybe even the Second Amendment. Their tactic is to not only continue to spin the "facts", but out-and-out lie to the gullible people of the country. Watch out for b-HO here!
I continue to use the example of the two moms that met at the "March", where mom Number 1, whos "child" murdered Mom Number 2's "child" with a gun; embraced. Number 2 forgave Number 1 and they both blamed the Gun Industry! (I'm sure that Number 1 breathed a sigh of relief that SHE wasn't sued!) Then, the big-city mayors used this example to further fuel their lawsuits to pry the financial life out of the gun industry. That tells me that we will never solve the root-cause of gun violence. The anti's just don't understand, or don't want to admit that they don't understand what really needs to be done, or it's just about the money. Worse, private citizens use this twisted logic to support the anti-gun movement. They don't get it either.
Let's start with personal responsibility, for our own "children"! Then, hold our children responsible.
