Another Good One Gone

...I note the passing of Stephen Camp, noted expert on Browning High Powers and an all-around good, thoughtful guy, at the far too young age of 59.

Thanks for the conversations, brother. Rest in peace...

That's awful! I learned so much from reading his posts about my favorite pistol, the HiPower. What a terrible loss for us all.

RIP, Stephen, and thank you!

Very sorry to hear that.
Sad news.

I too had learned a lot from Stephen from other forums and through his site.

MB - is there anything we can do for him or his survivors (Kids, wife?) thought our forums and members?

R.I.P. Friend Stephen

Stephen was the most cordial person I've run across in the online gun community. We exchanged several personal messages and he was always a gracious conversant. He'll be sorely missed.

Oh no!

Stephen is one of the good guys.

I've exchanged forum messages and e-mails with him over the years and always respected what he had to say.

Any memorial efforts going on?

Like the match for user 1911 on the Downrange forums, sounds like a Hi-Power match is in order.

Sorry that should have been Gunman1911...

That's so sad. Mr. Camp was one of the most thoughtful, polite, and informative gun writers around. I learned a great deal from his website over the years and really enjoyed his book on the S&W J-frame.

His forum contributions were full of good information and judgment. He always behaved like a class act.

Thoughts and prayers for the repose of his soul, and my condolences to his family and friends. God bless.

Son of a...gun.

I had a few email conversations with him, and have a book or two autographed. He seemed to be a truly nice guy. Big loss for the gunny world.

From his obituary today in the Denton Record-Chronicle:

Memorials: Denton Police Officers Association, PO Box 5103, Denton, TX, 76205.

He had served with the Denton PD for 25 years.

I just had him autograph his action novel for me before I bought it. He seemed like the kindest gentleman.

He did leave behind some great books and incredible reviews.

I frankly had no idea anyone else knew who he was.
