When I was with Larry Potterfield last week, he was laughing because I was studying the standard reference texts on British double rifles. "Are you going to buy a double rifle?" he asked. To which I responded, "As if!" Still, I can dream, can't I? Tonight I'm reading the history of Walther.
This week's podcast was a toughie to record...I decided I needed to talk about Connecticut and dancing on the edge of the abyss. Listen to it and let me know what you think! It scares the crap out of me.
Here's a piece from the great John Farnam on "The Wind." What struck me was his quotes from A Man for All Seasons, where Sir Thomas More challenged Henry VIII. John quoted a conversation between More and his future son-in-law, William Roper, on the law:
This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man’s laws, not God’s! And when you cut them down, and you’re just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?
John wonders whether any of us will be able to stand against the winds that are coming. It's probably worth noting that Sir Thomas More lost his head on July 6, 1535.

Regarding CT, I think we who have been paying attention are all on edge. This is playing out like a 'fiction' of John Ross or Matthew Bracken. I hope this isn't the case.
Matt Bracken calls his style "faction". Getting too close to reality.
I live here. We're on edge.
Hi Michael,
Speaking of Gun Stories Season 4. Since I don't have cable or satelite I subscribed to myoutdoor TV (MOTO)so I could watch your shows. It works really well and is reasonably priced at $5 a month. THe problem is that ALL of your shows stop at 2011.
Do you have any juice to see if they can get your series updated on MOTO? I can watch only season 1 of Gun Stories.
I want to watch the outdoor TV shows (and would even gladly watch commercials if this helped motivate them) but many seasons are missing. For eample, Shooting Gallery only has 2008-2011 loaded.
Thanks Obi-Wan Kanobie, you are my only hope.
I really love guns and the information you have given in the blog is really useful. Thanks

Sipsey Street Irregulars blogspot has been posting Connecticut State lawmakers addresses, and phone numbers. Many letters being written. Appears they are preparing for war. Also some LEO's home addresses and judges addresses being published.
Keep a sharp eye on your editors. I was watching the 1911 episode and twice there were shots inserted of Beretta M9s. Or were you just trying to give old 1911 guys a heart attack?
