HOW MANY DAMN TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS?!?

*BE ARMED*

Every friggin' day…every day of the week...every time you walk out of your house (and make sure you have a pocket pistol when you're at home.

*BE TRAINED*

Make  your vacation a training vacation…check for training books and DVDs…practice with Airsoft or Next Level Training or LaserLyte guns. Training is more important than a new TV or an ATV.

*BE VIGILANT*

My friends, the wheels are coming off this thing. The America we grew up in is dead and gone. Mr. Friendly Policeman's job is draw the chalk lines around our bodies. We are on our own, and we ignore that at the risk of our — and our families' — lives.

* HAVE FAITH*

Today the God of All Things gave dozens of people the chance to stand; not to live, because those decisions are ultimately not ours. But the chance to stand. Sometimes I think we imagine the God of All Things sounds great horns that call us to battle, the great rattle of arms and rallying of troops. But I think God whispers, no more than the rusting of a single hummingbird wing. None of us will know those whispered words; they are for our hearts alone. I believe that today some people heard the rustlings of hummingbird wings, and they stood and took the bullet. I hope…I pray…that should the whisper come to me, it is from Psalms…blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle...

In the New York Times last week there was perhaps an untimely article titled 27 Ways to Be a Modern Man. Here is Number 25:

25. The modern man has no use for a gun. He doesn’t own one, and he never will.

Perhaps Kipling saw it differently:

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

"The modern man has no use for a gun"? Are they daft? Does the modern man also not have use for a fist? Or a club? If that is so, then the modern man has surrendered and the modern killers, robbers and other various psychopaths have won!

Wake up world!

Yesterday, with little, or no real facts available regarding the latest school massacre, the President addressed the nation and jumped right to his gun control agenda. He even misrepresented the truth regarding the efficacy of state and local gun laws(!). He steered well clear of addressing the behavior of the killer though, but rather blamed us! He said that everyone who stands in the way of "common-sense gun laws" is to blame! Not once, in any of the mass-killings that occurred under his watch or before, did he ever address the behavior of the perpetrator. Nor did he address the complicity of those that surrounded these sick individuals who actually knew of the potential for such behavior to take place in the future. Never did Mr. Obama deliver any admonition regarding the personal responsibility of the killers and that this type of behavior is not acceptable.

Instead, this president has worked hard to create a victim class where individuals and groups are pitted against each other. The common theme is the that you are a victim. You are not successful because someone else is. You don't have anything because someone else stole it from you. You can't do what you want to do because someone else stands in your way. In every case, the "enemy" is identified and its us!

If guns caused this heinous act to occur, then surely it was the box cutters that caused "9-eleven".

We don't need more gun laws, we need a new president. After all, the leader does set the tone for how we all behave.

Michael..........one of this shooters victims was Chris Mintz, a 30 y old Army vet. Shot 5 times while charging the shooter, survived (as of today). He had no firearm, I wish he had, DOES HE WISH HE HAD ONE ?!!!!!!? If so, what a great spokesman for our side. Maybe you should get in touch with him.

Guess I'll happily trundle along being a troglodyte.
If being a "Modern Man" means being a complete pussy who can't make a decision and can't take care of themselves or their family, then I will GLADLY abstain!

I'll also be sure to keep my cave dwelling self out of their affairs when someone is stomping their ass to death. One more note to Modern Men: Don't block the exits when the SHTF - I will not wait for you to move, I will go over or through you.

Well said. It's a pity that it has to be said over and over because there are people out there who simply don't--and won't--get it.

I would add a "Don't" to that list. Don't lay down. Don't lay down for a leader who says that you are the problem when you're not. Don't lay down for anyone who tells you that you don't need a weapon to defend yourself from the predations of others. And for Pete's sake, don't lay down and wait for a nutjob to shoot you. If you're going to die, die fighting.

Absolutely! If just ONE more person had been willing to make a move that nutjob would surely have been taken down.

As for the "modern man" garbage, someone at the Times has far too much time on their hands.
