What's unfortunate is that restraining orders are far too easy to get. Feminists lobbied for this and now they are used as cannon fodder in divorce proceedings. Women shelters apparently encourage women to get restraining orders and accuse husbands of child abuse (or other abuse). This is so that the courts will find in the woman's favor.
Of course, someone came up with the idea to bar the target of a restraining order from having firearms. Thus, restraining orders are a great way of depriving someone of their 2nd Amendment rights. I would not necessarily be against this policy, but restraining orders require absolutely no evidence, just the complaints of someone.
Also, women are not the primary victims of crime. Men are. Men are more likely to be murdered or robbed. (I just wanted to mention that one while on a somewhat related topic.)
