A Passing of No Consequence

Well heck, I note the passing of my goldfish, Pooh Yee. Ornamental goldfish are strange, exotic creatures, prisoners of their much-manipulated and ultimately flawed genes — although I suppose that could be said for all of us. I got him for a couple of bucks at some giant pet store years ago. Even though he was 3/4 of an inch long, I figured he must be tough, since he survived the trip from the goldfish factories in China. At his passing, he was almost 9 inches long and was pretty hefty.

No big. Just thought I should note it.

Sorry to hear of you loss. Best to do three days of mourning, with no seafood.

I have seen huge goldfish in Asia.

They're carp. Pretty colored carp, but they're just carp.

My condolences. I have a black moor and a white and orange of the same shape. The white and orange one is named Scooter for his genetically induced swimming style. Thought I lost him the other day, but a few peas later and and he was back to scooting somewhat right-side up. The black moor is undescribably cool, and I have had him the longest. He too is grande sized. Sure will miss them when they go, even if they are glorified carp. What concealed carry holster did Pooh Yee prefer?

Michael, my heart-felt condolences on your loss. If it's any consolation, goldfish are never REALLY alive in the first place.
