Yet Another Sign of the Apocalypse...

...as Hollywood considers remaking Red Dawn.

Except in the new version, crazed rednecks with machine guns attempt to take over the great liberal bastions of Boulder, Eugene, Madison, Auston and Berkeley, where they are repelled by plucky neuvo-hippies and b-HO supporters allied with noble but oppressed migrant workers throwing blueberry scones and harsh language!

And speaking of liberals, here's a little tidbit from Chicago, b-HO's home turf, where being a scumbag just seems to come with the territory:
Ald. Richard Mell (33rd) is a former hunter with an arsenal of weapons that reportedly features shotguns, rifles and pistols, including a Walther PPK of James Bond fame.

But there's a problem.

Mell forgot to re-register the weapons as required every year by the ordinance that he helped to pass as one of the City Council's most senior members.

So, what does an alderman do when he finds himself in violation of the law? He writes a new law. Mell has quietly introduced an ordinance that would reopen gun registration in Chicago and create a one-month amnesty for himself and other gun owners in the same predicament.
Ah politicians...gotta love 'em!

Hmm...
If he is CURRENTLY in violation, and the possession is a felony of any class, (wouldn't surprise me in Chi town) then is he not also a felon in possession? Federal jurisdiction?

Is he not now disqualified to hold any office?

Oh what wonderful questions...

Wait! Wait!

They're going to re-make "Red Dawn"?!?!

What, will the Wolverines try to establish a "dialog" with the Ruskies?

On the Chicago Alderman situation. Throw the book at him.

I'd demand full prosecution under current laws. Also, his house should be raided with full SWAT and BATFE force. Not unlike the Branch Davidians.

ALSO, he has a conflict of interest in passing any laws about firearms at the moment, so needs to recuse himself from the council when criminal law is being debated or voted.

Dick Mell is truly one of the major putz's on the Chicago City Council (aka Dickey Daley's rubber stamp posse). And that is a significant achievement.

I like steamdragon's suggestion, where is the State's Attorney? Well, for one, the state AG is a young woman who just happens to be the daughter of the Majority leader in the state house, the demon-rat John Madigan. So no hope from that quarter.

Maybe the Feds? Ha! Politicians get a pass, not us civilians.

Neuvo hippie? Great descriptive term.
Here's a thought...I think Hollywood and the leftist news media believes most of the crap they put out....maybe they will believe cursing with intent to "scone" can overcome guns and they'll leave us alone.
Hey, they have this "gynocentric society" believing any 95-110 pound woman can easily whip a muscled up 6' man....maybe they will believe scones are greater than snipers....

A remake of Red Dawn is yet another indication that Hollywood is out of ideas. Even David Mamet cannot help them now (re: Redbelt).

They're making a GI Joe movie. Except now GI Joe isn't a Real American Hero, but a UN task force from Brussels.

So, like, who needs a permit for a pistol in Chicago?

It also helps if you're the governor's son-in-law, so I've heard.

It's a city ordinance, not a state, or federal law, so enforcement is up to the rest of the Chicago fools. They should still prosecute (cite?) him. But, we already know that "Gun Control" is about "Control" and not guns. After all, he's an elite thinker I'm sure and I need him to make my decisions for me, including those that directly affect my well-being!
