Tidbits for the AM

That is, assuming I can wake up...

The first FN SCARs are headed for battle, according to Army Times. The first 600 of the 1800 SCARs SOCOM ordered are going to the Big Sandbox with the Rangers.

Hear tales of weird doings in Europe, where American distributors are wildly shopping for guns & ammo as the Great Gins & Ammo Drought continues unabated in the U.S. How weird? Like maybe CZ's whole annual production for 2009 snarfed up by a U.S. buyer...

Had to pry the New Unannounced Ruger out of my FFL guy's hands! He promptly called Ruger and groveled for one of his own! Video Friday!!!!

I've noticed that Prvi Partizan in calibers like 9mm and .38spl seems to be showing up everywhere. WWB? Not so much.

That's right. Go ahead and make us wait for whatever it is Ruger is introducing, while rubbing our noses in the fact you already know. Not very nice, Mike!

One of the local shops had the 9mm, while Gander Mtn had the .38spl. The 9mm was $23 for 50 and the .38spl was $27 for 50, and that's just unreasonable.

My Ruger guess is a 10/22 in AR-15 drag, ala Nordic Components or a uberlight MK-III version.

Of course, I am wrong much of the time.

Have fun with it,
John

SCAR-L or SCAR-H?

I once overheard a suit at Ruger say they'd never have an AR...

"SCAR-L or SCAR-H?"

Per Defense News, both, along with the full range of barrel lengths since it's replacing multiple specialized weapons systems.

I expect they're also getting the grenade launcher attachment FN designed for the SCAR, rather than mount 203's to them.

At least, I'd hope so. The FN launcher is sweet.

Mall ninja's everywhere are on the edges of their seats anxiously awaiting those first pics of the SCAR in action when their latest issue of Soldier of Fortune arrives at their mothers's mailboxes.

Oh, giggity! They might just orgasm at the first pic of a SCAR that has been given the Krylon Fusion spray paint camo job (aka "blackwatered").

Giggity!

Giggity!
