Yawn...

...got up this morning to screaming parrots, notifying me (loudly) of a big ole mack daddy raccoon in the yard...which, of course, started Alf the Wonder Beagle's savage barking...for all I know, the cat was yowling as well. I swear the poor raccoon had his little paws over his ears...I certainly did!

Got to race down to Boulder to pick up a big ole Ruger box this AM and get to the range...once again, a spectacular new product announcement scheduled for the NRA Show...and, of course, you'll see it as it happens on DRTV Friday.

The Firearms Blog, who's owner, Steve, does a world-class job of sorting through the Web for new gun stories each day, has an interesting photo piece off AR15.com (another forum where I am Banned For LIFE) comparing the AR-15 to the FN SCAR. Interesting.

I have about a week's work before I leave for NRA...better suck it up and get started...

the more I see of the SCAR the more I believe these guys just ripped off Keltec's SU-16 with a more robust version...

If you got banned from BARFCOM, count yourself lucky. I couldn't stick around long enough to get banned; the asshattery was too over the top for me to put up with long enough to get banned.

BTW, let us know when Ruger announces the recall on this latest offering. lol!

How on earth could you get banned from arfcom?

Did you attempt arson?

@Hadji, you mean there is asshatery that goes on in gun related forums?

Get outtahere!

Yeah, I was wondering when the recall would start too.

Their obvious QC/QA problems and that whole Bill Ruger "simple civilians only need 10 rounds" letter will keep me from ever buying a Ruger firearm.

Ever.

Hopefully it is a shotgun, as that is the big giant glaring hole in Ruger's lineup. The Red label leaves much to be desired.

Ruger isn't the only manufacturer to have a recall, and Bill Ruger is no longer living. Get over it.Ruger makes outstanding products, and I for one am excited for another...

RE: Secret Ruger.

I'll take "Things the rhyme with KR-mifteen" for $500, Alex.

As soon as Ruger comes out and implicitly says old Bill was wrong and civilians are entitled to mags with as many rounds as they can get, I'll again consider the Ruger brand when shopping for new firearms. Otherwise, they'll just throw us under the bus again later on when it looks like a good deal for them.

Ahhh, I am looking forward to seeing that!

Thanks for the link to my blog :)

I saw a Ruger GP100 go tits up at a steel plate match a couple of weeks ago. Here I thought wheel guns were the epitome of 100% reliability. Then the same guy switched over to a Ruger Mark whatever .22LR pistol. That gun didn't run worth a darn either.

Lost wax casting is good for door knobs. Guns...hmmn... not so much.

I normally don't ask a door knob to save my life in a risky situation either.

Guns like a lot of other tools, hand, electric, and pneumatic, really are a you get what you pay for kinda deal (well, at least what they are supposed to MSRP at anyway).

Well Oakley, look about a month back right here in this blog:

Factory Mini-14 30-round magazine.

Hmmm, I don't see them cannibalizing sales of the newish Ini-may Ourteen-fay.

Well, hsoiblog, I know they sell magazines with over 10 round capacity now. The fact that they sell them now just shows that they will do anything for money. Where is the implicit announcement that Bill Ruger was wrong? Where is the promise that they won't sell us out again for a buck? They've already tried to screw us over once, I haven't seen anything they have done since then to show me they won't do it again.

How about holding Colt to the fire for that 5 shot SAA? They obviously didn't trust the public with more than 5 shots !

Get over it, Bill Ruger is dead and moldering in his grave and I bet the entire corp. board has changed in the 20 freaking years since the incident.

nj_larry said...

Sorry that was a finger slip...should have been 6 shots...

Oakley said...

Then it shouldn't be a problem for the board and CEO to come out and say clearly, without any double speak, that Bill Ruger made a mistake and they will never do it again. If they can't even do that, I don't have much faith that they won't do it again.

Should they cross their hearts and hope to die? What if they've got their fingers crossed?

Jeez.

They're a corporation. They can, and will, do what they want. If they can ignore the wishes of their late founder in order to make a buck and make us happy, what is their "Gosh, we're so sorry, please like us again" going to be worth to you?

They're selling us hi-caps again. Be happy and buy them. Or don't. You really don't need Ruger to kiss your ass.

"Ruger didn't make hi-caps before. S&W were sell-outs. Colt ignores us. H&K hates us." Boo-frickin'-hoo.

Buy, or don't.
