Oh Monty, Monty, Monty, I am walking down your hall
Got beat, lost my seat, but I'm not a man to crawl
I didn't get rich. son of a bitch
I'll be back just wait and see
Cause my whole world lies waiting behind door number three
Yes my whole world lies waiting behind door number three

"Door Number Three"
My friend Caleb Giddings at Gun Nuts Media got voted off the island on Top Shot last night, but you can still follow his Quest for Master Class over on DRTV. Don't worry, Caleb...you're safe on our island! In all honesty, I've sorta lost interest...they're doing some cool stuff, but it seems to move with glacial slowness. I'd have edited it a different way, but that's a Jealous Executive Producer talking!
Anyhow, not much going on yet this AM. Did a long hike with Alf the Wonder Beagle yesterday — she's getting her strength back after her paw injury. Speaking of "glacial slowness," stitched some more on my Taylor's Model 3 rig belt...believe me, hand-stitching a double-layer gunbelt causes one to have fantasies about sewing machines, even ancient ones.
I also sketched out my next project, a leather pouch for the Ruger LCP and other small semiautos. If it works out as well as I hope, I'm going to pass it on to my friends at Ted Blocker and see if they want to offer a version. Of course, the speed at the speed I do leatherwork projects (slightly slower than the speed at which I write new books), it'll be done when the glaciers start moving south. I'll post pixs of the Taylor's rig when it's finished...
I'm going to spend the week working with a double-barreled shotgun and see how that feels. If I'm not a complete monkey with it, I'll try it in a club cowboy match this weekend. If I like it, I'll start shopping for a good solid double for me to abuse to death.

I have to agree on the slow pace on Top Shot. I'm quickly losing interest. I'm tuning in for gun stuff, not to watch people whine and complain. I realize that it is reality television. But, that is the reason I rarely watch reality television.
Boring? Boring did you say?
Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang.."and now they are going to reload"...clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang..."wasn't that exciting boys and girls"? "next week we'll have more."
Work that puppy Mr. Wolf ....
... an' don't be tempted into that "single trigger" thingy ... ONE trigger for EACH barrel ... ;)
(that's a bit like using SUBSTITUTE BlackPowder)
C'mon an' make us proud :D
Saddle stitching is one of those things that is so simple... One a big job, it's simply excruciating. Good luck with it!
MB...
Had a Spanish made .20ga. double/double trigger side/side when your Sweetie was a little girl. Also Browning Citori .20, and Win. 11-48, 12ga. s/s got all the work and scattered all the feathers. Couldn't be beat for speed.
I'm enjoying the show. It's currently my fave gun show. Even my wife digs it, and she could care less about guns. Sorry to see Caleb get knocked out by that a**hole Adam.
What a monumental d-bag Adam is. How much righteous indignation can you muster when your backstabbing secret plan is revealed? The more vociferous he got about "ratfinks" and "snitches", the more his guilty conscience showed. You know who hates "snitches"? Criminals.
The "lowest form of life" isn't a whistleblower, it's the dirtbag who did the act that necessitated it.
Oh, and harping on a guy's physical stature? Classy.
For my money, it'll come down to Kelly and J.J.
Top Shot has interesting targets and great photography.
As for the pace and "drama"... did I mention that I like the slow motion shots?
I hope Tara wins it all.
I'm afraid that each episode I watch makes me hate the show more. And I've finally gotten tired of the guy who is hosting it.
I think next episode I'll be cheering for someone at the "nomination range" to put a 9mm into the host's ankle.
I figured out the only way I can stand that show is to watch it online and fast-forward to just after the commercial breaks.
Just in case you are interested...the Roy Roger's auction at Christies tomorrow and Thursday has Roy's Singer machine for sewing leather. If you are interested and aren't registered, that'll need to happen today. Roy's first job (Leonard back then) was as a cobbler...so he bought this machine and now it's on auction.
This show makes me glad I have TIVO and a fast-forward button....turns an hour of boredome into 15 minutes of good shooting....

Rastus,
it is 6:30pm eastern 7/14 and I'm following the Roy Rogers auction online. I am happy that they seem to be getting astronomical prices for his stuff. His Bonneville with Texas longhorns and Colt SA's just went for 254K !. Hell I was looking to see if i could pick up a belt buckle but they are hitting 1800 bucks. Glad to see that RR still has fans ! I can't imagine what the holster is gonna bring no less that cobblers gear.
Excuse my typo...that dang belt buckle brought in 18 THOUSAND DOLLARS...missed a zero there....LOL
It can't really have success, I feel so.
For my part everyone ought to glance at it.
