...sneakily, for me to get back in my office! Stacks of MUST ANSWER emails and endless scheduling issues. SHOT Show looms!!! I'll get a podcast done in the AM, promise.
BTW, Alf the Wonder Beagle was very excited about her new winter coat from Santa Fe...especially after her romp through the snow this afternoon. She looked like she needed paw warmers, or a small portable snowplow mounted on a rottweiler.
In Internet World, Caleb ponders stopping power, and I think he's on the right track, e.g. try aiming. But if we didn't have 9mm vs. .45, whatever would we have to talk about? Oh yeah, 5.56 vs. 7.62. It's okay...I'm getting back in the saddle...be back to normal by Friday...
Gonna go shoot a cowboy match on Saturday, if it's warm enough that my hands don't stick to the guns.

Concerning the issue of 9 vs. 45: see Dr. Martin Fackler's work. Both work, but one works much better. Also one does have to aim too.....
That's right... The hand sticking to the gun is less important in cowboy shooting than USPSA, IDPA, etc., per Evil Roy.
Ian...snark aside...the shot always defines what's required of the shooter., and Evil Roy had to remind me of that. A shot on a 50-yard pepper popper requires something different than shots on 5 2-foot targets 5 yards away. Sports are what they are.
George...I'm going to do a whole post expanding on your thoughts...

In Orlando recently a guy shot his teenage daughter's boy friend 4 times with a .45 acp and the boy friend lived and is going to recover. I know 2 or 3 shots were in the leg. As usual it us more about placement than Dis-placement
Heh.
Hmmn... I guess much has NOT changed in gun writer-dom since about 1994.
9mm vs. .45 ACP
revolver vs. semi-auto
AR vs. AK
5.56 vs. 7.62
Optics vs. Iron sights
Chocolate vs. vanilla
Wait? What?
More drivel in the "gunzines" that is nothing more than disguised advertising...
When was the last time you read a for real, honest to goodness negative review of a firearm or related gadget?
Thank goodness for internet forums and a good set of bullshit detectors. At least with internet forums, the information is free, and I am not paying to get advertised to.
Again...sigh....
As far as the hand sticking to the gun...well bad ju ju happens when a gun doesn't stick to the hand. We had an IDPA'er shoot a JHP throuh his thigh and out his calf at a match a few winters back.
CAS vs. USPSA... maybe that's a new one the gunwriter's can write on. LOL!
anybody ever buy anything from http://www.red-dot-scopes.com/ ?
