This from Sultan Knish…read the whole thing, please:
The illusion of history is that every age brings with it the end of history, a new age whose awesome achievements break with the past and usher in a boundless future. And then the walls come crashing down and the new era of history ends up buried under the rubble of time.
History never ends. That is the lesson of the Holocaust, of Purim and of countless other horrifying intrusions of the old into the new. The shining new era that begins with grand public spectacles and displays of the power and might of an empire, ends with corpses and men and women fighting and running for their lives.

None of these "Masters of the Universe" who believe they will change history, especially with technology ever realise that Human Nature®© has not changed in 10,000 years, and monkey brains still rule.....
"As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!"
Kipling
If there is a nation on earth best prepared to keep the monkey brains at bay it is the United States. There is a framework to accomplish that task, it is called the Constitution. And the tools that frighten the monkey brains are the First and Second Amendments to the Constitution.
610 days until the next presidential election my friends.

Lets just hope "the One's" era actually ends, and not the Constitution's... The verdict is still out
Just to put things in perspective...in the end the Sun goes supernova and vaporises Dear Old Planet Earth. Every living thing, every work of human hands, every bit of literature or love or passion will be gone. Every hug or tear, every bit of laughter and sadness gone. From dust to dust. In the end it is all meaningless. Robert Ardrey called it the "illusion of central position."
Ahh, damn. And I was having such a pleasant weekend too.
So Larry… I'm assuming you've read Robert Heinlein's "The Year of the Jackpot?"

If you haven't, you should…
LOL!

That's one reason Heinlein was so adamant on space travel, to get at least some of our eggs out of one basket.....

Jemes…if you've recovered from tho post, I strongy suggest you read William Forstchen's (of ONE SECOND AFTER fame)novella DAY OF WRATH:
http://www.amazon.com/Day-Wrath-William-R-Forstchen-ebook/dp/B00MU1NNRO/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1425911483&sr=1-1&keywords=day+of+wrath
It outlines how an ISIS terrorist attack against the U.S. Homeland would work, what their end game would be and how they might succeed.
Don't start reading it at night!
