Too Tired to Catch Up Tonite...

Worked in the indoor simulator Funhouse tonight with a Colt "Rail Gun" 1911 .45 and a handheld SureFire...I was very pleased with the results. All in all, VERY impressed with the Colt. It has been perking along just great and has been as accurate as any 1911 I've shot out here. I was thinking about buying the "Model of 1911-2011" Colt for my own, but this Rail Gun is tempting me...it'd be my first Colt 1911 since, like, 1984...

Tomorrow I'll be shooting the new Colt rifles...I'll fill you in.

BTW, did meet Iain Harrison, now with Crimson Trace, tonight. Nice guy!

Rumor has it that all Colt 1911s made in 2011 will have a "100 Year" type of marking. While I still want a ANVIII gun, a Cerakoted Rail Gun with the 100 year roll mark is on my list as well.

Might be worth waiting for if you want a rail gun with some more appeal regarding the upcoming anniversary.

I've stuck with Colt over the years and they haven't let me down. My forst 1911 was a "Delta Elite" in 10mm. I love it. I followed with two (2) full-sized models and a "CCO", or Compact Carry Officers. All of them are reliable and accurate. One of the big-uns is a stainless model that looks like your rail gun. The only complaint that I have is that even though I appreciate the matte finish on the top and the "ground" finish on the sides, I would recommend that they chamfer all of the sharp edges off. Leaving them sharp just isn't a "sales feature", nor does it contribute to the beauty of the gun. My gun actually shaved leather each time I'd holster it. The edges are also tough on the hands. It looks like your gun may be the same. I took a diamond file to mine and at least "broke" the edges.

Other than that, Colt, keep up the good work. I also hope that the UAW has learned something here. That's another story that I hope is in Colt's past.

I like the look of that Colt rail gun although I don’t really have a need for another 1911. But then do you really have to justify owning another COLT!
