Virginia, like 39 other states, allows citizens with training and legal permits to carry concealed weapons. That means that Virginians regularly sit in movie theaters and eat in restaurants among armed citizens. They walk, joke and rub shoulders everyday with people who responsibly carry firearms — and are far safer than they would be in San Francisco, Oakland, Detroit, Chicago, New York City, or Washington, D.C., where such permits are difficult or impossible to obtain.
The statistics are clear. Communities that recognize and grant Second Amendment rights to responsible adults have a significantly lower incidence of violent crime than those that do not. More to the point, incarcerated criminals tell criminologists that they consider local gun laws when they decide what sort of crime they will commit, and where they will do so.

Fred is spot-on except for one thing: you can get a CCW in Detroit, easy as falling off a log.
How about Colin Powell?

for VP?
Fred is sure-nuff takin the talk. A man with common sense, wow. I like it.
I emailed Fred earlier today to let him know about Michigan CCW.
Colin Powell is no friend of gun owners. He is just another RINO.

I had never heard of him until just recently. I have heard a number of people (like here) supporting him, but no real "why" stated. His view on guns seems to be on the right track. However, things like voting for the McCain-Feingold abomination and supporting the Patriot Act seem counter to who we would want for president. I'd love to hear more from those that think he's the right man for the job.
Fred appears to be a Reagan style conservative. But please bear one thing in mind -
VOTE ON ONE ISSUE - The 2nd Amendment.
Nothing else matters, as they say the 2nd Amendment protects all of the other rights. Yes, he supported the M-F act, but this is not the time to twiddle about that. Besides, I believe he has stated some reservations about its implementations. But above all else, if you value your rights, especially the right to keep and bear arms -
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!
Vote your rights. Vote the 2nd amendment!
I also have a blog on thompson. Want to exchange links? I think he will do good as a president. Seems to be down to earth
