The Fix is In

From InstaPundit:
A READER AT A MAJOR NEWSROOM EMAILS: "Off the record, every suspicion you have about MSM being in the tank for O is true. We have a team of 4 people going thru dumpsters in Alaska and 4 in arizona. Not a single one looking into Acorn, Ayers or Freddiemae. Editor refuses to publish anything that would jeopardize election for O, and betting you dollars to donuts same is true at NYT, others. People cheer when CNN or NBC run another Palin-mocking but raising any reasonable inquiry into obama is derided or flat out ignored. The fix is in, and its working." I asked permission to reprint without attribution and it was granted.

UPDATE: The Anchoress hears similar things. And reader Eric Schubert: "The Edwards debacle was proof enough of where the heart of the MSM lies, and lack of curiousity of the press about Edwards probably cost Hillary the nomination. And that shameful episode offers a warning to the MSM. What if Obama does have a skeleton in his closet (such as a shady deal or outright bribe) that is revealed after he wins the election? While the chance of this scenario is remote, imagine the backlash against the MSM if it could be shown that a reasonable investigation by the MSM would have easily revealed this secret to the public prior to the election?"

ANOTHER UPDATE: Rand Simberg isn't so sure: "Where was the backlash against this about Bill Clinton in 1992? They just seem to continue to get away with it." Well, yes and no. Their reputation and readership/viewership keep falling. And layoffs keep happening. I think they're willing to pull out all the stops because they realize this is the last election where they have a chance at swinging things this way. No point saving your credibility for the future when you don't have a future, I guess . . . .
BTW, re the earlier post, I've flayed Petzal in the past for his comments on "military style": weapons.

The MSM can't elect a single pol. Red states are Red and the Blue states are Blue and it doesn't matter how much the MSM loves B. Hussein that isn't going to change.

Right now the election is hanging on a handful of swing states with B. Hussein currently up due to the market meltdown. If the markets continue to go south and economic anxiety continues to grow B. Hussein will likely win. If things stabalize then McCain has a chance.

My gut tells me B. Husesein wins due to the current economic mess, and not the favorable reporting by the MSM.

Not on topic for the MSM mess but I wanted to let you know how sorry I was for all the "mess" on the SASS wire for the buffalo hunting episode of "Cowboys".

We all appreciate all you do in promoting our gun sports and the creative ways that you bring that to the public.

I didn't care for it either but I'm not going to crucify you for it either.

So thanks for all you do and keep on keeping on.

I have blocked those channels on my cable box (which I hate!) & am emailing them to let them know that my household will not ever watch those networks again. I also am making sure everyone I know is also aware of their tactics.

It may not do any good, but it's all I know to do.

All you can do is go vote, and then buy ammo, normal-capacity mags, and semi-auto rifles and pistols by the truckload.

Of course, some folks have trucks a lot smaller than others.

But if it's semi-auto related, and you think you might want one, scape up the money, go sell plasma and go buy....NOW!

And buy in the biggest quantities you can afford.

The best that the GOP can do is nominate a guy who endorses a $700 billion Federal government intrusion in the free market, wants to close the "gunshow loophole", gave us McCain/Feingold political speech suppresion, and seems to want war with, well, almost every other country? Bottom line is the country wants a change, and unfortunately Obama is a more skilled candidate, running a more competent campaign, in a year when the extremely unpopular incumbent is a Republican. McCain would be losing even if the media was in the tank for him instead of Obama. Conservatives, wake up; our future is not with the GOP. By the way, I'm voting for Bob Barr.
