I hear he was so mean, he once killed a man just for snorin'.

That's not mean. Waking a guy up to tell him he was going to shoot him for snoring is mean.

Hardin was captured on a train when his hammer got caught in his suspenders as the marshalls moved in. They stopped him cold, and he went to prison.

Did Hardin hold his "gat" sideways, ya know, "gangsta style"?

LOL!

That's neat.

I have always been intrigued by JWH partly because his dad was a Methodist Pastor, and mine was a Wesleyan Pastor.

Growing up in a Holiness home, it just boggled my mind that a PK would become such a killer

Wearing suspenders and pointing his gat sideways -- now that's a picture!

Suspenders! That simple word brings to mind a fix for the primary failure of thug couture - the falling pants!

That's one of them, anyway. When he was murdered Hardin was carrying a .38 caliber Colt 1877 Lightning with pearl grips:

I have a pic of this pistol in a book, but can't lay my hand on it at the moment. Hardin also used to shoot playing cards to demonstrate his gun skill, autographing the cards for admirers.

Do you still have to walk all the way down to the left end of the "Guns West" room, past all that Cowboy Action shooting crap to see this truly priceless piece of American history?

I was horribly disappointed with the way the NRA Museum displayed its stuff.

It was like it was laid out by parts warehouse drones without much feel for history or story-telling.

Did you get the same vibe?
