Is It Friday Yet?

Apparently not...if it's Friday, I'd be at a different meeting! I think you guys know I'm hammering out a potential new show, so I'm whipping around like Willie Nelson on...well, some chemical cocktail.

I wanted to note that COWBOYS' new season is starting to get spectacular reviews on the big cowboy forums. I'm very glad...Hatch TV, new host Ron "Tupelo Flash" Stein and I have put a lot into the show this season, leading to the Big Overhaul next season. Good to see people are noticing.

Politico notes that the Coalition to Ban Guns...whoops, I mean, Stop Gun Violence are banking the reprehensible Tom Mauser in ads attacking Colorado Senators Udall and Bennet for basically acting like real Coloradans and backing the Thune amendment. A legitimate victim — Mauser lost his son at Columbine — Tom Mauser is a little too fond of the spotlight and a little to out in outer space.

The Firearms Blog is reporting huge sales increases from Beretta and Ruger. Fifty percent of Ruger's 94% increase is from their new products — the SR556, SR9, LCP and LCR.

Back to the meetings!

I really enjoy Wednesday now due to Cowboys. The Flash is doing a great job and I enjoy the gun lessons and experts. Just wish your show and cowboys where on cable other times of the week!

First a firearm bubble. What next, folks hoarding incandescent light bulbs?

I like this season's magazine style format. The one show - one topic format you pioneered is great, but it makes each show all or nothing with viewers. I notice that BD:S is also magazine style. I also loved the new First Shots ad last night.

Hoard incandescent light bulbs? Who told? I live out in the country and we have what is known as "brown-outs". No, that's not laundry a kind of detergent. It's when the voltage to your house drops below 125 volts, sometimes into the 85 volt range. There are many causes for it, but the consequences ar BAD. These new bulbs just "pop", the bases turn brown from the heat caused by trying to draw more amperage to compensate for the falling voltage (Ohm's Law) and they're "toast", lterally. This is the same as using a dimmer switch on these non-dimmable bulbs. Sure, you can buy dimmable ones, but they cost twice as much as the non-dimmable ones that cost 3 to 4 times as much as incandescents.
Oh, by the way, incandescents here have doubled in price recently, just like ammo'.

I wonder how much of the increase for Ruger is LCP alone? They are still unavailable locally (at least they aren't in showcases).

The SR556 and LCR seem to be hohum based on local gunshops and the forums.

And the SR9 is purchased by the unknowiung based on price and the Ruger name. Savvy plastic pistol buyers purchase Glocks or M&p's.

I think I'm a savvy plastic pistol buyer and I swapped my M&P for a SR9 because I wasn't that impressed with the S&W gun...I have several Glocks I don't shoot. I went through the GUNSITE 250 with an out of the box SR9 and shot the same score as I did when I went through with a Novak 1911. Hmmmmmmm...savvy is as savvy does...

RE: Sportsman, OUTDOOR CHANNEL bought me fair and square. Besides, look at the shows on Sportsman...there's a reason they're free...
