Yellow Aspen

The harvest is past
The summer is ended
And we are not saved
Jeremiah 8:20

I thought I'd up the level of discourse on my blog for about 10 seconds before I got back to insulting people...to the best of my admittedly old memory, this is my first Biblical quote! So anyway, I get home from North Carolina and the high aspen are starting to turn golden...way, way early. The Weather Service says we can expect a warmer-than-normal winter because of global warming; the Old Farmers Almanac says we're going to freeze our 'nads off. Me, I'm stocking up on new down stuff in the pre-season discount sales...last winter was brutal and long.

So Showtime is getting ready to roll-out Lock 'N Load and Spike is dedicating 2 hours to a straight knock-off of THE BEST DEFENSE. History's working on a TEOTWAWKI series (quoting me), producers of some of the other channel gun shows opening acknowledge SHOOTING GALLERY as their inspiration...the world is changing, and my shows seem to be on the cutting edge. In fact, I got an email from Larry Potterfield this AM that said, remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I do wish that imitation was accompanied by a check. LOL!

Imitated, but never equaled.
Great job Michael.

How does a man who must walk with a cane draw and fire a handgun with any degree of accuracy?

The people who produce the shooting show on versus must be having a stroke about now since direc tv shut that network out of their line up.

I'm still not sure what Lock N Load is going to be about. Is it in the style of Pawn Stars, where we follow a gun transaction? Is it a lifestyle show following people who own guns and why? Is it Cathouse with guns?
I stopped by the store featured (Shootist in Lakewood, CO) a few weeks back. White brick building in a poor neighborhood, small mom and pop style gun store in front, shooting range (25yrds I belive) in back. Unusual mix of customers when I was there, not at all what I'm use to at the local 'cop shop' gun store. A family arrived while I was there, including a woman in a neck brace. I wonder if the gun store visit was related to the brace?
I'll be watching, but I still don't think it's anything like the Bane Empire shows. Michael is the Steven J Cannell of gun shows.

I wish I was the Stephen J. of gun shows! Just yesterday I had Series#5 collapse after 4 months of work, way too many meetings and my reserving time in Q3/Q4 2010...oh well, if it was easy everyone would do it! Tomorrow I'll start sifting through the wreckage and see what's salvageable...
